Sorry it took so long to get back with you. So, any mites that were in your hive died with the bees, they're all gone, so you don't have to worry about mites and since you had a new hive I'm also not concerned about any diseases or anything like that you should be golden.
In your used hive whoever you bought it from, ask them plenty of questions as to how long they've had it, any diseases that they've had, where it was located, would give you a pretty good indicator of its exposure to diseases and or pesticides. If you're going to put wax on the new frames or foundations that would be OK. I think that's a good idea to do that, I've never done it however a lot of people do and it has been demonstrated that bees pull comb much faster that way.
